Voluntarily Acted for Chinese Overseas Students on Migration
In 2007, AHL Legal acted nine cases of visa scam for Chinese overseas students. Being promised of successful migration, at least 8 Chinese students paid over 300,000 Australia dollars to a migration agent. Because the agent was listed on Immigration Department's blacklist, these overseas students had no choice but to suffer.
AHL Legal always concerns the safety and living conditions of young Chinese overseas students. AHL Legal Solicitor, Han Bing SHEN arranged a press conference for a 16-year-old Chinese female student to tell her stories that how did she lost her student visa and become illegal residence after paying $40,000 to a "Migrant Agent ". AHL Legal suggests, overseas students especially those who just arrived in Australia without much local experience, must check if agents have licenses or registered before paying any fees.
